Although the village of Snape is world famous for its concert hall and music festivals, it is a popular self catering holiday location due to its proximity to Aldeburgh, the Heritage Coast, the heaths, forests, rivers and bird reserves as well as all the other areas of interest within the county. The quiet lanes and paths in the locality make it an ideal area for walking and cycling. The village itself offers a complex of interesting shops at the Maltings, three pubs, a good village store, a post office and a fine church. Valley Farm is situated on the outskirts of the village and the Barn is a detached, thatched building which used to form an integral part of the farm when it was working. It has been thoughtfully converted by the owners to provide three attractive self contained holiday units which have been awarded 4 stars by the Tourist Board. The Stables, also with 4 stars, is attached to the barn. GRANARY COTTAGE sleeps four persons, forms the centre unit of the barn and again is heavily beamed. The ground floor accommodation comprises of a rear entrance lobby, open plan living/dining room with double height ceiling to the original barn roof and door to the patio area, a fitted kitchen and a double bedroom. A flight of solid wooden stairs leads from the living area to a galleried landing off which is a bathroom with electric shower over the bath, washbasin, shaver point and w.c. and a medium sized twin bedded room. Facilities provided at these properties include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, ample kitchen equipment and remote controlled colour TV. Part of the building has been set aside to form a utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer, drying area and payphone. The owners provide duvets, pillows and all bed linen plus towels and the cost of the electricity and oil fired central heating is included in the rental throughout the year. There is ample parking to the rear of the Barn and as well as the patio areas and communal garden, visitors are welcome to make use of the surrounding two acres of the owner's grass land. For a minimum 3 nights, a futon plus bedding, linen and towels can be provided for one extra visitor per cottage - although it will make things a little cramped in The Hayloft! If preferred, the owners can provide a camp bed instead of the futon but a sleeping bag, not supplied, is better on this. Owner has bedding for a cot, but a cot is not available. ,should you require the linen it should be requested at the time of booking your holiday. Dogs are welcome at Valley Farm Barns and the owners will accept children in Granary Cottage on the understanding that parents are aware of the galleried landing and the open garden arrangements. Smoking is not permitted within the properties. Visitors are politely requested not to arrive before 4.00 pm on the start date of their holiday.
