The coastal village of Bawdsey is about 10 miles from the popular riverside market town of Woodbridge and the pebbly beach is less than a mile away. The neighbouring village of Alderton has a busy little village shop and a good pub which serves food on a daily basis. A few minutes drive inland will bring you to the forests and woods and Snape, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are a short distance away by car. With only slight hills and many narrow country lanes, this is an ideal area to explore by bicycle.
Situated up a long private drive, the Manor House Estate is a converted farm surrounded by grassland, with distant views of the river Deben beyond. There is a communal swimming pool and tennis court for visitors to use and rackets and balls can be borrowed from the estate office, if required. Please remember to bring swim towels with you.
Glebe Barn is a semi-detached house with splendid, far reaching views across fields to the river Deben in the distance and provides modern, comfortable accommodation for not more than five people.

The large kitchen/diner is well fitted and has an electric cooker, larder fridge, freezer, dishwasher, ample cooking and dining equipment and garden doors onto the patio which has outside furniture for al fresco meals. There is a utility room off the kitchen with a washer/dryerand microwave. An open doorway from the kitchen/diner leads into the sitting room which has comfortable soft seating, a television with DVD, a radio/cd player, a woodburning stove and garden doors to the patio.
Stairs from the entrance hall lead up to the first floor where there is a single bedroom, a double bedroom, a second double bedroom with an ensuite shower room with WC, wash basin and shaver socket and the family bathroom has a bath, WC, wash basin and shaver socket.
All the beds have pillows and duvets but visitors are requested to bring a full compliment of bedlinen for each bed used, together with towels and teacloths too.
As well as the woodburner in the sitting room, there is oil fired central heating serving radiators throughout the house. A small welcome pack of wood is provided for the woodburner and further supplies can be purchased locally.
