Approached through Forestry Commission land, the parish of Butley is a scattered village approximately eight miles from the popular market town of Woodbridge.  The village has a pretty thatched church, friendly pub and the attraction of Butley Pottery.  There is easy access to Orford, Snape, Aldeburgh and miles of footpaths and coast.  Butley High Corner is a small, no through lane of residential cottages outside the main village surrounded by agricultural land.

High Corner Barn, which stands in the garden of the owner’s home, is a recently renovated, single storey, self-contained, detached property which provides attractive, unusual accommodation for not more than four persons.

A Gothic style entrance door leads into a large main living area with a high ceiling, heavily beamed walls, a wood burning stove and large French doors which lead into the garden.  Within this main, open plan room, there is a pleasant seating area, a dining table and a compact kitchen area.  Off this main room, there is one double bedroom, one twin bedded room and a utility area which leads through to the bathroom with electric shower over the bath, wash hand basin, shaver socket and WC.

Household amenities include electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher,  adequate kitchen equipment, radio/cassette player, colour TV and video.   Duvets and pillows are provided but NOT duvet covers or top sheets, bottom sheets, pillowcases, towels or teacloths.

The large French doors open out to a small garden of grass and patio but visitors are also welcome to make use of the main garden which has an assortment of children’s play equipment, a fenced pond and ample off road parking.  There are a few Bantam chickens which guests are welcome to feed if they wish.

There are night storage heaters in the bedrooms, electric heating in the bathroom and the woodburner gives ample heat in the main living areas. 

One small, well behaved dog is permitted provided it is kept under very strict control at all times and NOT permitted to foul the garden. It is regretted that smokers are not welcome.

Short breaks are available at High Corner Barn but they can only be considered two weeks before arrival out of season and one week before the start date in high season.   Prices are available upon application.
