Situated in pleasant farming countryside, about two miles from the sea, is the village of Hollesley, which is about eight miles from the pretty market town of Woodbridge. Hollesley comprises a collection of houses and cottages, a pub, a village shop, garage and church. Shottisham village, with its pretty thatched pub, The Sorrel Horse Inn, is also about a mile away and Alderton (with another good pub!) is about two and a half miles away en route to Bawdsey. This is an excellent area for a holiday as it is very close to the sea and forests and is an ideal area for walking, painting, riding, golf, bird watching etc. It is also a cyclists’ paradise as there are miles of flat, winding roads and very few hills!
The Poplar Park Equestrian Centre (01394 411023) is very near to Lodge Cottage and can offer a weekly livery service for any visitors wishing to bring their horse/pony on holiday with them. Alternatively, why not have a morning’s lesson exploring the local forests on horseback?
Lodge Cottage is a detached, single storey property accommodating six people situated in a quiet location just over a mile away from the centre of Hollesley and is available for self-catering holidays when not required by the owners.
The accommodation comprises an entrance lobby with a washing machine, bathroom with wash hand basin, WC and bath with a mixer tap shower over, a kitchen with dining area, two twin bedded bedrooms, a double bedroom and a living room with open fire. There is ample off road parking and an open shed for bike storage.
Household amenities include electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, colour television, video, radio/cassette/cd player, garden furniture, brick built BBQ, secondary glazing, electric water heating and oil fired central heating. Fuel for the open fire can be purchased locally.
