Clopton is a large parish sprawling across miles of fields with clusters of houses here and there.  It offers rural living at its best yet the popular riverside market town of Woodbridge is only about 15 minutes drive away and there are neighbouring villages all within easy driving/cycling distance. There are miles of newly opened public footpaths and bridleways to walk as well as the many interesting places to visit all over Suffolk. The ‘chocolate box’ cottages in the old wool towns of west Suffolk to the coast in the east are all within easy access so Clopton is an ideal base for a holiday, being in the countryside but not ‘cut off’ from civilisation! And Orchard End has a swimming pool to fall into after a long hot day of exploring – it is no longer heated for environmental reasons but the water does warm up as the location is sheltered and sunny.  The nearby villages of Grundisburgh and Otley each have an excellent shop and pub.

Orchard End is a self-contained, single storey property, attached to the owners’ home, which offers simple yet spacious and comfortable accommodation for two people. The front door leads into an entrance lobby which in turn goes into a central hall. Off this central hall is a good sized kitchen/diner with electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice making compartment, washing machine, table and chairs and ample cooking and dining equipment. There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC, wash basin and shaver socket and a large bedroom with a double bed and very good storage facilities. The sitting room has soft seating, a flat screen television with a DVD and a radio/cd player and, beyond, is a little sun room with a dining area which over looks the patio, garden and pool.

There is gas central heating serving radiators throughout the property. The owners provide a duvet and pillows, together with all bedlinen, towels and teacloths. Please remember to bring your own swim towels with you for the pool.

Outside there are tables and chairs beside the sun room as well as on the terrace beside the swimming pool where there is also a BBQ. There is ample off road parking on the driveway.

Although no baby facilities are provided, a non-mobile baby is welcome as there is plenty of room in the bedroom for a travel cot. As the pool is open and unfenced, mobile children can not be permitted. Smoking is not allowed inside Orchard End please and, should you do so outside, please do not leave any ‘evidence’ lying about. One small well behaved dog is allowed but please do not let it into the bedroom or pool.

Short breaks are available at Orchard End but they can only be considered two weeks before arrival out of season and one week before the start date in high season.   Prices are available upon application.
